Based in Ojai, California, Zhena’s Gypsy Tea produces teas that are as tasty in the cup as they are easy on the eye. We sampled the Grand Green, a successful combination of green tea and peppermint. The minty aroma opened up our eyes as well as our sinuses, and the refreshing brew went down smooth and cool. Aficionados of the strong, distinctive flavor of true green tea will find this brew too mild; but for those who enjoy the health benefits of green tea but turn up their noses at the taste, the mint cleverly toned down the often grassy flavors of green. There’s more to Zhena’s teas than just the sachet you steep in your mug. Each flavor comes in a sweet tin that can be proudly displayed on a countertop or desk without needing to be relegated to the cupboard.
