These iced green teas are the latest in a long line of beverages from Tokyo-based tea purveyor, Ito En. Founded in 1966 and established in the U.S. in 2001, Ito En has combined a modern, graphic bottle with a classic drink that's unsweetened, all natural and calorie-free. Our favorite in their new Teas' Tea line, the Lemongrass Green tasted like sun-bathed summer, with a light, refreshing flavor that highlighted the citrusy herbal notes without covering up the green tea taste. The tea was round and full on the tongue and went down smooth like good green teas should. Other flavors in the line include Pure Green, Golden Oolong, Green Hoji, Green Jasmine, Green White and Rose Green. These convenient iced teas are great for casual sippers looking for something more exciting than plain iced black tea, but those who like green tea brewed strong may find that these lightly-flavored drinks are not mighty enough for their palates.
