SerendipiTea
Guranse Estate
Organic Black Tea
SerendipiTea
Rating: 13.5/20
Hailing from
the foothills of the Mahabarat Mountains in Nepal,
SerendipiTea's Guranse Estate Organic Black Tea makes
a strong first impression. Don't judge this tea by
its eco-friendly packaging—the plain brown paper
bag tucked neatly inside an equally simple cardboard
box is deceivingly tame. But as soon as the bag is
opened, a pleasantly robust scent greets the senses,
and the first sip of the dark orange brew is a definite
eye-opener. With half the caffeine found in a cup
of coffee, this tea is a great option for anyone trying
to break a java habit. The taste is spicy with the
slightest hint of sweetness, but be careful not to
steep the tea for too long, as this will leave it
tasting slightly bitter.
SerendipiTea’s
philosophy rests on quality and social responsibility,
assuring that their products are as friendly to the
environment as they are to your taste buds. Whenever
possible, their loose teas are imported from organic
and biodynamic estates and the packaging for all products
is made from post-consumer recycled and biodegradable
materials, complete with soy or water-based inks.
Furthermore, many of SerendipiTea’s offerings
are fair trade-certified, meaning that wages, working
and living conditions of workers who pick and process
the teas meet certain standards. For more information,
