Some
display teas are more about performance than taste,
but we enjoyed everything about Flower That Never
Fades, a flowering offering from Silk Road Teas. This
softly-flavored Jasmine tea could be enjoyed by itself
or paired with Chinese, Thai or any Asian-fusion dishes,
and its aroma is inviting and soothing. All of Silk
Road Teas’ green display varieties are hand-sewn
together with silk threads and conceal a flower that
opens slowly as the tea steeps. The one we tried,
also known as Bai He, unfolded to reveal a red chrysanthemum,
which moved gracefully in our teapot as if blown by
a breeze. For best results, brew in a clear glass
pot and gather friends around for a display of art
and beauty.
